"The Art of Quoting" "Distinguishing what you say from what they say"

When summarizing a text, the best way to give credibility to the summary is to quote the exact words, because quotations are like a proof of evidence. Problems with quotations are coming when writers are thinking that the meaning of the quotation is obvious and they don't need to explain their quotes. When quoting the writer needs to build a frame around them to let them speak. The amount of explanations  a quote needs depend on the complexities of the quote.

Good academic writing implies that the reader knows at every certain point of the text if you are quoting or presenting someones thoughts or developing your own opinion.
